Commonwealth Of Nations

The Commonwealth Nations is an international organization formed by 56 independent countries that cooperate voluntarily in political, economical and social issues. Lot of this countries were colonies of the United Kingdom, but nowadays all of them are independent and have equal conditions. 

India is one of the members most highlighted and influential of the Commonwealth Nations. India became independent on 15 August 1947, this huge change came after decades of political struggle and civil resistance, especially thanks to all the leadership of the important people. After the independence, India continued being a member of the Commonwealth Nations until it adopted its own constitution. On 26 January 1950, India became a republic, with a president as the head of state, and it consolidated its democratic political system. 

India has a historically incredibly diverse culture that covers thousands of years. Beautiful architectures such as the Taj Mahal, declarated World Heritage by UNESCO, attract millions of visitors and reflect the large artistic and historical legacy of India.
